Press ReleasesEB Teams up with Abu Dhabi Warriors for mutual benefit
Elite Boxing has announced plans to team up with Abu Dhabi Warriors of the United Arab Emirates as part of a joint venture aimed at allowing the two combat sports companies to benefit from each other’s expertise and connections.
AD Warriors as if it is independent organization. Abu Dhabi Warriors is an MMA event series which debuted in 2012. After taking a break from event production, the brand was re-launched earlier this year.
With the goal of exploring development opportunities, Elite Boxing co-founder Toli Makris was invited to the most recent Abu Dhabi Warriors event in March. Having had the opportunity to observe the event production first-hand, Toli has returned to the UAE several times over the past two months to provide consultation and negotiate possible collaborations, including the production of Abu Dhabi Warriors events.
As those negotiations have advanced, EB and ADW have moved ever closer to agreement as the relationship between the two groups has strengthened. Both Toli Makris of EB and Lubomir Guedjev, the MD of Abu Dhabi Warriors who has spent more than 15 years in the UAE, have expressed their optimism about future collaborations.
In the short term, two more Abu Dhabi Warriors events will be staged this year, in September and December. It has already been confirmed that EB will support these events with video production and global distribution through both its worldwide network of television broadcasters and the company’s in-house EB-TV online platform.
Both companies have also agreed to cooperate on future events that will be held outside of the UAE and feature mixed MMA and muaythai fightcards. Under this agreement, the MMA fights will be branded under the Abu Dhabi Warriors brand, while the muaythai fights will be organized and branded by EB.
More details about these events will be released in the near future.
